Automata theory is the study of abstract machines and the computational problems that are solvable using the machines. These machines are called automata. Computability on the other hand, is concerned with the question of which problems are solvable and to which extent they are solvable. This entire course therefore deals with algorithms, machines, grammars, recursive functions and computation.
